Trimmer Springs Road Bridge

Project Summary

Large rainfalls cause flood water to spill over the banks of Holland Creek, impacting neighboring agricultural and residental areas within rural Fresno County. Blair, Church & Flynn assisted FMFCD with a $3 million, multi-phased flood control feature and bridge structure intended to divert flood water out of the Fresno Irrigation District (FID) system and preserve the downstream capacity of FMFCD’s facilities. The reinforced concrete inlet structure captures flood water and diverts it via a reinforced concrete pipeline, which crosses underneath Trimmer Springs Road. From there, the water follows a natural course to the Kings River.
