Project Summary

The City of Fresno, State Center Community College District and Clovis Unified School District enlisted the expertise of Blair, Church & Flynn to design pedestrian undercrossings and trail improvements for undeveloped portions of the Sugar Pine Trail in Northeast Fresno. The firm determined the limits of trail improvements in relation to the rails-to-trails right of way, coordinated with the Willow Avenue Widening project team and involved utility companies, as well as developed a sensible phasing plan for the project that was adaptable to existing and future funding sources.

Our firm designed two pedestrian undercrossings adjacent to Clovis North High School and Willow International Center, working with both Clovis Unified School District and State Center Community College District staff. The design work included the layout of an ultimate trail alignment, modular block retaining walls, storm drainage infrastructure, as well as landscaping and irrigation.
