The Department expects to reduce costs by holding training classes at their own facility. The new regional center will serve the entire Central Valley area.

In 1996, the Fresno Police Department examined the state of their training department and found their quarters cramped, inadequate and outdated. The current facility was no longer adequate to provide sufficient in-service training for their hundreds of officers who must each year meet state mandates and standards.
Blair, Church & Flynn is part of the design team responsible for a new 80-acre facility in southwest Fresno that will feature a range, classrooms and driving courses for officers to acquire new skills and practice techniques. Our firm’s role included master planning, topographic surveying, comprehensive grading and drainage, utility infrastructure, irrigation and landscape improvements, as well as off-site roadway improvements. The new regional center will serve the entire Central Valley area.
The expected completion date of the $15 million facility is August 2010.
