The new Fresno Chaffee Zoo Master Plan represents a collaborative effort between several firms and disciplines, and incorporates the input of many individuals from Zoo administration, the City of Fresno Parks, Recreation & Community Services, and Rotary Storylandand Playland. The Fresno Chaffee Zoo commissioned CLR design – architects and landscape architects, Schultz & Williams, Inc. – strategic planners, and Blair Church & Flynn – civil engineers, to prepare the Master Plan documents.
During the initial stages of the master plan the design team facilitated workshops to discuss key broad issues such as land use, circulation, access, and city and regional context. As the civil engineering lead on the project, Blair, Church & Flynn assisted in developing long range goals and objectives for the master plan, including reviewing existing site utilities, creating concept maps for utility service strategies for new proposed development, utility implementation and phasing strategies, as well as cost estimating.
