Southern California Edison tasked Blair, Church & Flynn to develop a plan for a multi-story apartment complex to expand the existing housing needs for future Edison employees. After multiple programming meetings and discussing the existing infrastructure of the Big Creek community, the team of consultants Blair, Church & Flynn brought together developed the idea for the Carriage Unit – a two-story, two-unit apartment building that would serve the existing and future needs of Edison’s employees. Each unit contains a one-bedroom unit and a two-bedroom unit, with amenities such as outdoor balconies, covered parking, central heat and heated gutters.
Our firm was able to plan the site for a total of four Carriage Units, with an option to construct a future unit, and provide standalone garage units for all the existing residents. Blair, Church & Flynn provided continuous support through bidding and construction. The project had a construction cost of $3.2 million and is estimated to be completed in January 2010.
