Blair, Church & Flynn is assisting Southern California Edison with the renovation of the existing two-story administration building in Big Creek, California. The 12,000 square feet office building will be modernized to maximize the space and incorporate many new construction amenities into the existing building. Blair, Church & Flynn’s responsibilities includes developing a space plan, as well as providing code required ADA access and compliance.
In order to accomplish these goals, a number of areas will experience a variety of changes, including: the existing open space at the front entry which will be enclosed to serve as a main lobby and vestibule; the stairs at the rear entry being enclosed and/or reconstructed; and replacing exterior windows and potentially adding shade devices (canopies) to the exterior building.
Space planning and programming are currently under development to renovate the space, with anticipated construction to begin in mid-to-late 2010. Blair, Church & Flynn will be preparing construction documents for the work and providing bidding and construction support throughout the development.
