Project Summary

Blair, Church & Flynn in a design-build relationship with the Taylor Group Architects and Mauldin-Dorfmeier Construction, Inc., were members of the team responsible for the design of UC Merced’s Valley Terraces and Valley Commons Dining facilities at the new university located in Merced, California.

The Valley Terraces opened in the fall of 2005 with housing for approximately 600 students in two-story, apartment-style suites. The facility was intentionally designed to promote interaction among residents making it an ideal community for new students.

Blair, Church & Flynn acted as civil engineer for the project and provided topographic land surveying, comprehensive site grading & drainage, campus water & sewer utilities, as well as LEED designed site improvements.
