Project Summary

Our firm is proud to have assisted Darden Architects and the Clovis Unified School District with the master planning and design of a new 97.5-acre educational center in northeast Fresno, California. Located on the corner of Willow and International Avenues, the center is Clovis Unified School District's third comprehensive intermediate and high school complex that is designed and organized to provide a seamless, focused and dynamic seventh through 12th grade educational experience. Each school, Granite Intermediate and Clovis North High School, is an entity unto itself, but all students enjoy the use of common outdoor areas and athletic facilities.

Blair, Church & Flynn was responsible for a site selection study, topographic and boundary land surveying, comprehensive site grading and drainage, parking facilities, municipal sewer and water services, as well as off-site roadway improvements. Athletic facilities included separate baseball, softball, track and field stadiums; intramural soccer fields, baseball fields and tennis courts. Roadway improvements included 1.5 miles along the campus frontage that were widened to four lanes. Adding to the complexity of one of the largest education development projects in the Central Valley, Willow Avenue is the demarcation between Fresno and Clovis, which required significant coordination from both agencies to satisfy each municipality?s design standards.

The $129.6 million project was completed in August 2007.
