May 1, 2008In a prestigious design competition featuring engineering projects from all over the world, Blair, Church & Flynn Consulting Engineers returned from Washington, D.C., with a highly coveted ACEC (American Council of Engineering Companies) 2008 Engineering Excellence Honor Award for the design of the Tule River Fish Return System.
The project was one of only 24 to be selected from a field of over 150 nominees, each winning at their respective state level of the competition. Projects are evaluated on technical merit, meeting client objectives, design ingenuity, as well as social, economic and sustainable design considerations.
"The ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards competition attracts the highest caliber of projects designed all over the world," said Michael Flynn, PE, Principal at Blair, Church & Flynn. "Design projects vary in type and size from the longest bridge in Thailand, the new Arizona Cardinals Stadium, to the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, Washington. The competition is tremendous, so to have our project recognized within this field of applicants and on this particular stage is an honor for our firm, as well as a testament to the quality of our staff."
